Keep your boiler working reliably with regular maintenance checks
A boiler is one of the most reliable pieces of heating equipment there is. It is not at all unheard of for boilers to last several decades. But even a boiler needs to be checked periodically to make sure it is working correctly. A properly maintained boiler will continue to provide years of reliable performance.
- Make sure you have a professional inspect your boiler once a year, preferably right before heating season. We perform thorough maintenance checks of all boiler components, taking care of the little things so your equipment doesn’t wind up needed big, expensive repairs. For instance, we will make sure there aren’t any cracks, and that there isn’t any water leaking out.
- You should also check your boiler’s pressure gauge periodically. If you still have your owner’s manual, it will tell you what the optimum pressure should be. Check it once a month during heating season to make sure it’s at the right level. If it’s not, call a professional.
- Keep the area around your boiler clear during the winter. Don’t keep anything that could catch on fire or melt anywhere near the unit. This includes items such as aerosol cans, paint cans, papers, etc.
Call Essig Plumbing and Cooling today and we’ll make sure that your boiler keeps running the way it should.
